Due to the improper sorting of household waste in designated bins by many residents, the amount of non-recyclable waste has increased, leading to serious environmental challenges.
Unfortunately, public awareness on this matter has not been adequately addressed. The informational sheets and labels on waste bins do not provide clear instructions. Moreover, most information about sorting recyclable and non-recyclable materials is published on official government websites in English, which prevents non-English speakers, including Farsi-speaking residents, from fully benefiting from these resources.
Although some information is available in Farsi, it is insufficient for the large Farsi-speaking community in British Columbia.
Given this challenge and our commitment to encouraging others to protect the environment, we took the responsibility to take action. We gathered comprehensive information about waste types, sorting guidelines, and recycling centers from official government websites, translated it into Farsi, and cited the…
